I need advice from a PARENT?

i really want to travel to Spain in 2011 with my school for WYD.
and my parents are hardly even considering it. I will be 16 at the time, in year 10, and it is a fully supervised trip with 2 teachers from my school and 19 other girls.
How can i convince them to let me go? it is also only $5,490 for 7 nights in Italy and 8 Nights in Spain, including accomidation meals and flights!

Answer on I need advice from a PARENT?

Perhaps you could approach it from a different angle? Instead of saying "can I go?" Ask yourself what you need to do to get there. For example, can you help pay for the trip? Also, if being 16 and grown up is the main reason you feel you should be permitted to go, make sure you prove your maturity. Obviously, I don't know you so you will need to decide if this is the side of you they already see on a regular basis. It would also be useful to know if this is how they usually react to requests like this and if you have a good relationship normally.

Always try to look at the other perspective. If you were a parent and your baby ( however grown up they may feel) wants to disappear into the unknown, what would you need from them?

Good luck, I hope it works out for you. :-)
