Hey, I know a lot about this stuff. I've lost 50 pounds! The first 10 are the easiest, and really you shouldn't have to change drastically like I did.
When you first change your diet and exercise, your body will lose a lot. Once your body gets used to it, though, it'll stop losing weight until you eat even less and/or exercise more. You should be able to lose a few pounds just by choosing low fat foods (like cheese, milk, bread etc.) instead of full fat ones. Try taking out just 200 calories and 5 grams of fat out of one day and see what happens.
If nothing works, add in some exercise. You should do that, anyway. I assume you probably aren't a fan of exercise because not many people are. It doesn't have to be hard, though. A great exercise is jump roping. If you're like me and you somehow can't jump over a rope to save your life, just pretend. Hold an "imaginary jump rope" in your fists and jump up and down. That can burn up to 15 calories a minute. That's actually a lot compared to other exercises.
You can also do one simple thing: don't eat 3 hours before bed. If you do, your body will be digesting the food instead of doing what it should be doing: burning calories. Each pound of muscle burns 50 calories per hour of sleep while a pound of fat only burns 9.
Bottom line is, you won't have to change your life substantially to lose a small amount of weight. You'll only need to tweak it a little. Good luck!
