Are Olive Garden chefs really trained in Tuscanny, Italy?

I don't believe that for a minute, but their commercials claim they do. I think maybe they send some chefs there for training but not to be your local OG chef. I think it's for their corporate kitchens where they develop the menu. Does anyone have insider knowledge about this?

No, they are not. I'm a former franchise restaurant manager....what they do sometimes is send you and other managers on a training trip where really all you do is have a meeting for a few hours and then party and drink for a few days. That way they can say you had 'training' at a particular place or country. Its not technically a lie, but it is...
